I believe the Maintenance Craft is on the verge of some changes.  These changes will affect the way we do not only day to day tasks, but also the way we function as a craft in whole.

I am a firm believer in protecting jobs not only for the employees of today but for the future employees of tomorrow.  I know that maintenance is the growing craft of the union, but due to the costs involved with our wages and costs of the upkeep of machinery, management always targets our craft for cost savings.

I pledge to protect the integrity of the craft, the work and wages of the craft and will strive to ensure that we continue to increase our staff, maintain our work and keep our wages growing.  I am deeply concerned with the Custodial/Labor force of our Union.

I pledge to protect the integrity of the craft, the work and wages...

I see where we have left this occupational group out in the cold over the last few years and I plan, if elected, to help protect the jobs that we now have and to gain increases in areas where we desperately need it. The MS-47 victory was nice, but it needs to be followed up with enforcement.  We have also left the Maintenance Skills Development Program out in the cold, it needs to be more accessible to all members of the union.  If elected, I would like to sort out the clouded lines we have between occupational groups in both the mail processing side and the building side.

I also believe the area maintenance occupational groups need to be tracked better as I know we are losing more and more work to contracting out in this area.  I plan to be easily accessible and keep the membership in the know both on current issues and past issues that are still pending.  I would like to get a tighter networking system between maintenance members and the National officers in order for us to be up to date on the day to day happenings in the field.  This would ensure that the membership are being helped with current problems.  I look forward to serving the membership if elected and have always worked earnestly in every aspect of my positions that I have held with the union in the past, present and will in the future.

I welcome your support and your vote.
